Richmond (VA) Alumni - The Eastern Province Large Chapter of the Year for 2008!
Brothers, as we celebrate Black History Month and pay tribute to our African-American leaders of these United States, let us use this time to examine our commitment to our faith, our family and our fraternity. Kappa Alpha Psi is very much a part of this rich history and because of our dedication to service; our fraternity can and does make a difference. Kappa Alpha Psi has made a great impact on our nation and thus granting our beloved organization an opportunity to be a key player in moving our country forward.
Realizing that where a man sits in his old age tells you where he stood in his youth, our annual black history celebration should be a reflection of our past; recognition of our heritage’s contributions; and a commemoration of our unified efforts to make America a better place for all. Those triumphs of our forefathers should recharge our passion to commit our lives for service. There is no better way to honor our forefathers than with the life we lead. This level of thinking and philosophy will develop a cycle of excellence which would insure that younger generations will have road maps of success in place to follow. This would also insure that future generations will be achievers in every field of human endeavor.
Let us take every challenge as an opportunity to prove that we are worthy of the struggles of our dark past. Brothers it is up to us to take this grand fraternity into the centennial celebration and to fulfill our noble clan’s destiny. Keep Honorable Elder Watson Diggs’ good old kappa spirit moving so that we may continue to create inspiration to those we serve.

As long as we remember to give more than we take
Love more than we hate…and
As long as we honor our ancestors with the life we lead
Always willing to do a good deed….and
As long as we stay true to Kappa Alpha Psi
And live by the meaning of Phi Nu Pi….
Our History will never be forgotten!!
