When a Past Polemarch is confined and can no longer perform his day to day activities independently because he suffers from dementia praecox; this chapter goes to where he is, sits with him, eats with him, and fraternize with him to the point where the ill health brother remembers the entire Kappa hymn for the first time in years…
That’s the chapter of my dreams…
When a chapter is known for giving ten baskets each year filled with turkeys and all the trimmings during the Thanksgiving season but chooses to do more because this chapter understands many families cannot afford to buy food due the economy—this chapter digs deeper, gives more, passes the hat to feed not only the usual ten families but twenty families…
That’s the chapter of my dreams…
When young black males are at a high risk of becoming a part of gangs, drugsand violence; this chapter uses its guide right program to expose these males to job seminars, etiquette training, financial planning seminars and community service activities. This chapter instills in these gifted and talented young men the concept of reach one teach one.
That’s the chapter of my dreams…
When the Grand Polemarch issues a national theme: A Call to Service, and implements a day where all Kappas celebrate together to call a special day, Sunday of Hope. This day is when our organization raises funds for very sick children. This chapter answers the call, set a goal to raise $3000 for this worthy cause but at the end of the day raised more than $5000 plus which is the largest amount raised in that province…
That’s the chapter of my dreams…
When senior citizens become home rich and money poor due to some extensive home repairs, they are unable to enjoy their American dream during their golden years because of their fixed income, cost of medication and the condition of their homes— this chapter has Kappa men who freely fixed these family’s homes and when they leave, the homes are in a condition where it is safe, sanitary and decent….
That’s the chapter of my dreams.
When this chapter sees one brother falls, this chapter answers that brother’s call. When a community group faces a difficult plight this chapter pulls together and uses their might.
When there is a special need in our land this chapter supports the Grand Polemarch’s plan. When society said all black males are in gangs this chapter teaches them about the keepers of the cane.
What chapter is this? I am sure you won’t deny; the chapter of my dreams is Richmond Alumni—EP Large Chapter OF The Year 2008.
It is with the greatest humility and a thankful spirit that I am bestowed this honor to have the opportunity to join the ranks of accomplished men and dignities of our grand fraternity. As we approach our 99th year, what an awesome privllige to serve this chapter, my chapter, as the 29th Polemarch. Let’s continue the journey and make this a year to remember.
Yours in the Bond,
Rodney L. Moody
